On this week s show, we head down to the Fairgrounds for some Jazz Fest fun We begin by sampling red beans and rice with longtime vendors Judy Burks and Morris Douglas. Judy sRed Beans booth has been woven into the very fabric of Jazz Fest over the 40 years that she s been stirring the pot at the Fairgrounds. Then, we meet theSheik New Orleans music legend Michael O Hara joins us to talk about his life and career in New Orleans. We also pay a visit to the RomanCandy man. On many an afternoon in New Orleans, you ll find Ronnie Kotteman on his 103 year old cart on the streets of Uptown New Orleans. You can also visit Ronnie and his wagon every Jazz Fest, parked inside the fairgrounds near the Gentilly gate the same spot he s occupied since the 70 s. We close out our festival day with TerranceOsborne.
