It’s Acadiana: Out To Lunch

Hosted ByChristiaan Mader

OUT TO LUNCH finds journalist Christiaan Mader conducting business Acadiana style: over lunch. Each week Christiaan invites guests from Acadiana's business community to join him. Beyond the foundations of the Acadiana economy - oil, cuisine, music - there is a vast network of entrepreneurs, small businesses, and even some of the country's largest companies who call Acadiana home. Out to Lunch is the cafeteria of the wider Acadiana business community. You can also hear the show on KRVS 88.7FM.

In and Out of Town – Out to Lunch – It’s Acadiana

Out to Lunch host Peter Ricchiuti shows up to Social on Johnston Street with nothing but a good idea: find guests at the restaurant, have lunch and talk business. What transpires is both a testament to the quality of Social’s diners and employees and the ready availability of characters and talent in every part of Acadiana.

First, take Jourdan Thibodeaux. Jourdan tells Peter there’s no truth to the saying that the two things you don’t want to see being made are sausages and legislation.

Well, he’s sure about sausages anyway. Justin is part of family business Comeaux’s, one of the sausage and boudin grand masters of Acadiana.

Kyle Waters likes the meditative ritual of making sausages. Kyle’s the chef at Social. But he wasn’t always. He’s got an interesting story, and even if he wants to quit cooking, he can’t.

Robbie Bush eats regularly at Social, but he could eat anywhere in the world. When he’s not rocking a drum kit Robbie’s a travel agent. On today’s show he shares the insider secret to getting a low price airfare online.
